Please Help Me Win Free Lead!!!!

I know I said I wasn't going to be in again this week, but I'm desperate to win some free lead. And I need your help to do it.

Do you want to see me cry? Of course you don't.

All you have to do to help me is Like Darwin Games Facebook page. And if you have the time, you can leave a comment with them that says "Anne O'Leary sent me"

And what will I win you ask?

Five figures from the Floris Tribe is what I can win. And doesn't this look like something that belongs in my collection? Of course it does.

The game consists of 5 tribes and this one is from the Hydris Tribe. This one runs a close second for me behind the Floris Tribe. If you'd like to see all five tribes you can click on the link HERE

So why the give away? Darwin Games is preparing to launch it's first boardgame "Dawn-Rise of the Occulites" via a KickStarter later this month. This game is unique because it is based on the rules of Natural Selection as defined by Charles Darwin.  Read this brief summary written by the owner, designer and sculptor of Darwin Games, Ben Boersma:

The first game in the series “Dawn – Rise of the Occulites” is a miniatures boardgame. It is set in a time when the Occulite civilisation is just forming. Occulites travel from cave to cave in small tribes. Daily life is tough, with Sungems and territory being vital to a tribe’s ability to survive. The game features objective based skirmish gameplay and sees you steer your tribe through a fully customisable campaign, but pick up and play scenarios are also on offer. Dawn uses an innovative card based action resolution system called ‘The Natural Selection Deck’ that is easy to use but forces relevant and important decisions to be made. (Source)

So help me help Ben by visiting him at Facebook , Liking his page and checking out what he has to offer.

Tamisin, Mistress of the Bow

The Earl of Grey sired but one child, an inquisitive and boisterous girl, whom he named Tamisin. Tamisin had little interest in her mother or in the pastimes of women, preferring instead the company of her father and his soldiers.  Refusing to wear a dress and do needle work, Tamsin insisted in learning the art of war.

She was fair wicked with a blade, but it was with the bow that she showed the greatest aptitude. Her skill with weapons and her knowledge of strategy earned her the respect of the men.

It was at the Battle of Teadom, when Lord Lipton laid siege to the Earl of Grey's castle that Tamisin earned the title Mistress of the Bow.

For it was Tamisin's arrow that pierced the heart of Lord Lipton, thus ending the war.

The figure is 32mm and is from Dark Sword Miniatures and was sculpted by renowned sculptor Dennis Mize.

I will be in later today to comment.  The Hubby has doctors appointments all week so after today I do not anticipate being in again until the weekend.

Well folks it's Monday and the beginning of a new week. So grab a hold of your bootlaces and pull yourself up, because no one will do it for you. I know I will.

Prince Phillip, the Duke of Hazard

Every Pirate Captain needs a parrot. Unless that Pirate happens to be a Pirate Cat like HRH.  HRH knew if she had a parrot, she'd eat it, but surely she must have a winged creature as a companion.

While in port at Liverpool, HRH bought herself a winged monkey from a street side vendor.  The little monkey was great with a rifle, but not very intelligent. Every time he opened his mouth, gibberish came out.

Despite his lack of eloquence, HRH found him adorable. "I shall give you a name and a title my little monkey" she said. "From henceforth you shall be known as Prince Phillip, the Duke of Hazard"

"Just don't talk when we go into port or you'll start an International Incident" HRH admonished, giving his tail a playful yank.

This little guy is a 25mm sculpt from Eureka Miniatures and he was fun to paint.

Well folks it's Wednesday and for some of you it's been a bad week. So slap a smile on your face and pretend everything is hunky dory. I know I will.

HRH Takes to the Seas!

A cat of extraordinary abilities, HRH convinced her human Debra to buy her a pirate ship. "Mistress, I shall sail the oceans and seek for you a Rare One worthy of your love" purred HRH with a sly wink of her eye.

HRH promptly hired an all female crew (yeah, I'll paint them) and set sail for Canada, a country she long desired to have in her possession as she'd heard the maple syrup there was to "die for".

Much to her dismay, HRH discovered that Canada already had a King. Orlin, the Eternal King of Canada ruled the land that she desired.

"Not half bad to look at" thought HRH when she saw him. And since handsome strongly correlates with stupid, HRH thought she could master him in time.

The story or Orlin and HRH continues in both my short story "Suzie Swagger and the Zombie Apocalypse" and "The Wyrm of Connemara"

HRH and Orlin are from Dark Sword Miniatures and are 32mm sculpts by Dave Summers.

TODAY I AM AUTOPOSTING. I may be sleeping when this publishes but when I wake up, I'll be around.

Well it's Monday folks and if you're Irish, you're already picturing all the things that could go wrong before Friday. So today, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I know I will.
